Collins was head of corporate risk and broking for Willis Northeast. >> Buys Brady Insurance Planning, an employee benefits advisor based in East Norwich, N.Y.; Rossmann-Hurt-Hoffman, a commercial and personal lines firm in Ellicott City, Md.; and CIFS, dba City Insurance Services, and its affiliates Silver City Insurance Services and J&C Financial Planning (dba MOA Financial Services), based in southern California.


Launches healthcare benefits platform, called OutFront Health, for multiple-employer groups, including professional employer organizations, associations, staffing firms and family offices. Offers individually underwritten, level-funded or partially self-funded plans. Self-insured plan could cost 10% to 15% less than fully insured plan in the first year. >> Forms partnership with investment bank Teneo Capital to provide structured insurance products for companies worldwide. Ranjini Pillay joins as senior managing director to lead effort. Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance rolls out public and products liability insurance in the U.K., Ireland and southern Europe. Also launches employers liability insurance in U.K. and Ireland. Martin Leeks named SVP for casualty in the U.K. and southern Europe. He moves from Mitsui Sumitomo at Lloyd’s.


Lucien Wright Insurance Services merges into Wortham. Scott Finks, Lucien Wright president, and Bill Merritt, EVP, join Wortham’s ownership team of managing directors.

Sydney-based Steadfast acquires non-controlling stake in UnisonBrokers, a general insurance network with more than 200 brokers across 130 countries. It has operation centers in Chicago and Hamburg, Germany, and will be renamed UnisonSteadfast. Steadfast Group, a network providing services to more than 352 brokerages in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and London, will join UnisonSteadfast network and facilitate access to international markets. Steadfast’s operations in Australia, New Zealand, Asia Pacific and London won’t be altered.


RSG Underwriting Managers forms independent marine insurance consultancy and claims adjuster for energy and marine called Smooth Waters. Unit combines Trident Marine Managers and marine claims adjusting division of SafeWaters, both operational businesses of RSG Underwriting Managers. >> Debra Goldberg hired as chief underwriting officer of Sapphire Blue, Ryan Specialty Group’s MGU headquartered in Chicago. She was managing director of medical underwriting at Markel. >> Kathy Burns hired as SVP and chief digital officer, based in Chicago. She was CEO at Ventiv Technology (previously known as Aon eSolutions) and remains on its board.
